Ida and David met in high school math class, where David shared old quizzes to help Ida study. Some say he was playing the long game. Their first date, over ten years later, was spent making sushi at home during the pandemic: quiet, easy, and just right.
Things became serious in the fall of 2020, when David took Ida camping, and she actually went. Since then, they’ve been side by side: road-tripping, skiing, hiking, and adventuring with their two brave rescue dogs, Charlie and Gregory.
They balance each other in all the best ways. David plans ahead, Ida wings it. David reads every review, Ida follows her instincts. David camps, Ida glamps. And somehow, it all works.
David proposed in a wildflower meadow with frolicking sheep and Mont Saint Michel in the background. It was the day after visiting the D-Day beaches in Normandy and just before heading to Bordeaux for wine tasting. It was, in a word, them.
